I am a State Licensed, Certified Massage Therapist specializing in NeuroMuscular Reprogramming, a comprehensive technique predicated on specific muscle testing. The NMR protocol allows me to identify muscles that are either weak or inhibited by other muscles or groups that cause imbalance, impairment, restricted motion and often chronic pain. Drawing on 20+ years of private practice, I am able to correct these imbalances through extensive work with Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Swedish, Cupping and Kinesio Taping, all with the primary focus on increasing healthy and pain-free movement. My private practice includes many local athletes from fun runners to competitive ultra-marathoners and triathletes. In addition, I worked at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center for nearly 5 years and the Duke Center for Integrated Medicine for 4 years.
Since graduating from Medical Arts Massage School in 2002, I have been owner and sole proprietor of Healing Hands Massage Therapy and Bodywork, LLC. My office is located inside WildHawk Physical Therapy at 1070 Tunnel Road, Building 2, Suite 100. We are up the hill from Pomodoros Greek and Italian Restaurant. I pride myself on developing professional relationships with the medical and alternative health community, including chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, Physical Therapists, other Massage Therapists, Pilates and yoga instructors.
I am also a Certified SCUBA Diver, and have logged several Tandem Skydives! I am an avid outdoorsman and want to hike every waterfall in western NC, just a couple of the reasons I now live in Asheville.
